American Reporting Co. unveils appraisal service

American Reporting Co. recently added appraisal services to its existing 18 year-old credit reporting company.

The addition marks the continuation of an aggressive plan to rollout a complete settlement services package by the end of 2005 - a complete mortgage solution for professionals in the business.

The appraisal services are a new concept for ARC, but not for recently-appointed Sue Potteiger , formerly Senior Vice President and Chief Appraiser of Washington Mutual. “The addition of this new service will add convenience,” Potteiger said. “We already have customers who know ARC's quality of service from purchasing Credit and Flood Reports, and all indications are that the market will embrace this new service as well.”

Potteiger brings over 25 years experience in the Appraisal industry to ARC. Her plans include adding title and escrow to the existing credit and flood services, AVMs and a consulting solution will be added thereafter to complete the settlement services offering within the next year.

Duane Peterson, a 20 year veteran in the business, most recently national production manager at Washington Mutual, joined Potteiger in August as the manager of the service.

“This is a fantastic opportunity,” he said. “I believe that the lending community is looking for ways to reduce costs and the cycle time of loan origination. By adding appraisal services to credit and flood, we will offer the ability to streamline the order-out process.”

The addition of appraisal services will roll out first in the Seattle area with expansion nationwide in 2005.
